Will Cup (Design 93) offsets work for S2?
I can potentially pick up a set of Cup Design 93 wheels from a 993 at a good price. The wheels are 7.5 - 17 and 9 - 17 with (I think) 65 offset front, 55 offset rear.
My S2 - non M030 - has front offest 55, rear 52, and I am running stock tire sizes, 205/55-16 and 225/50-16. I don't see the rears being an issue, but does anyone have direct experience with the 65 front offset? I'm concerned they may rub.
I believe the tires sizes I would use would be 225/45-17 and 255/40-17.
Thanks for any info.!

I just put a set of Cup II wheels on my 968, they are:
7 x 17, ET 55
9 x 17, ET 55
My tires are 225/45-17 and 255/40-17 as you mention.
I think you might be incorrect about the ET65.....and if they were actually ET65 and you had to put a spacer on them, then you would have to get new front studs most likely so you had proper thread engagement on the stud nuts.
If you didn't know, the offset and width is printed on either side of the valve stem on the outside of the wheel.
Mine fit perfectly!

Those look great! You may well be right on the size and offset - I have not yet seen the wheels in person. I'll confirm when I see them.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The factory did install 7.5" Cups [I and II] in front on both the 928 and 968, and both 7.5" rims have a 65mm offset. As Luis said, either version will bolt on your car, as is. And I doubt you'll have any interference issues, as your front strut/spring suspension geometry is nearly identical to the 968.
By going to a 65mm offset, the 0.5" increase in rim width is, for all intents and purposes, absorbed almost entirely to the inside of the wheel.
