CDR-210 w/Ipod, Aux und USB inputs...
Here's a clever interface for the CDR 210 Porsche/Becker radio units in the 993.
http://www.solisto.de/en/caraudio
I'm currently in the process of up grading the 93s OEM HiFI (POS Nokia) to that of a Dynaudio system out of a late MY07 VW EOS car with the 600w Dynaudio.
(Yeah,,, I know... what took me 12 years???) A couple of Dyn drivers mounted in the Porsche OEM HiFi positions and the Dyn/VW amp/active x-over, etc., (3C0-034-456-A) under the seat should do the trick - with no visiable modifacation.
The VW Passat Dynaudio system front speaker bucket arrangment looks like it could drop right in place behind a HiFi optioned 993 front door panel.
We'll see...

I'm not sure of your position? Pls clairify. The Solisto interface works like a champ with the CDR-210... charges the Iphone 3GS to boot. If your refering to the "how" of a CDR 210s speaker only output connectivity to an extenal amp.... that's easy; interface Baby..

ilko - actually its been said that the early MY05 thru MY09 VW/Dynaudio authored amps/active x-overs all made by either Lear/Blaupunkt/Siemans/Etc., can broadly except both hi level and spkr level inputs - we'll see.

Are you saying this works with the 210, for a iPhone, for music & charging?
Do you have one working, & did you order it from them?
My interface doesn't like the iPhone, it will not play music.

The point for compatibility is the CD changer model. As I understand correctly, the 993s uses the CDC-3 which I have installed and it works both with C(D)R 210 and CDR220. The model number is BE 2660.
On the solisto website they say that it is compatible Silverstone 2630. However, I found a dealer website that specifically list the CDR 210 and 220 as being compatible. Just go for it and let us know ...
http://www.kolumbus24.com/default.as...m&ST=1&IT=1127
or here on the solistio website. The system should work with the limitation that it can only emulate 6 CDs with up to 100 songs each:

I'd ordered the Solisto unit so we'll see; iphone 3GS as itunes. (as soon as Santa get's his sleigh on the roof)
As far as the Dynaudio upgrade goes, its a LF 110w RMS x 4, Mid-band 40w RMS x2 and HF 25w RMS x 4. D-class amplification, w/active Freq. crossover, EQ, phase alignment, impedance compensation, etc. This high end VW/Dyn amp (let VW think that - OK) coupled to the CDR-210 with a few decent quality level Dynaudio drivers placed in the 993s OE HiFi door arrangment - should sound nice. And on a beer budget - kinda.
Has anyone spent time in a Dynaudio optioned VW? EOS, Passat, SUV, etc.
The MY07 Passat Dynaudio wagon I'd listened to was a solid A to B+ upgrade from a stock VW stereo. I hope this effort sounds good in the 993,,, because most if not all of the components are assembled.... Ready to tear open the interior.

Drifting
I was looking at these about a couple of months ago and wasn't quite sure if they would work on a CDR-210 and was waiting for some confirmation before placing an order.

Sorry for being sooo sloow here, but I'm sound system challenged. So, the "interface" here is the factory CDC-3 trunk mounted 6CD changer that came as an option on 993's, correct? These Solisto units won't work with the CDR210/220 units without that trunk mounted unit 'in line' because the radio's don't have an Aux input and the Solisto box provides that in the form of broken out dedicated inputs for iPod/iPhone, digital recordings etc... Do I have it?
Hope this helps.

^^^ Yes, thank you for the clarification. As I understand it now, I can install this unit using a CD Changer cable (and based on its size, under the dash looks doable) and it will provide interface to run/charge my iPhone and store a limited number of CD's digitally and that music 'library' can be controlled from the head unit. I'm assuming I could also run iPhone Apps like iPod, Pandora and Tom Tom navigator through the car's stereo system at that point, but judging from the O.P.'s post, no one here has actually hooked one up yet to test it's actual capability. It does sound promising, however ...

Was your interface concern the CAN BUS architecture? If so, mine also.
Other's before me say the presence of the CANBUS signal is irrelevant,, and that the amp/crossover device will function without its presence. We'll see??? On the flip side, one can never have enough paper weights!
Have a Merry..
