The distributor shaft of a local 993 owner's car. Note the condition of the inner race that is still seized onto the distributor shaft. Both bearings on this shaft were seized, dry and rusty.

A close-up view of the vinyl coated 3/32" stainless steel cable looped around the base of the distributor body. An extra length of vinyl tubing was slipped over the cable to protect the distributor casting.

The dual distributor can be next to impossible to remove after the O-ring on the distributor shaft has set/stuck itself in the bore within the engine block. A slide hammer I made a long time ago came in handy to remove the dual distributor out of my 993.
