4s winter wheels on a turbo?
Hi all. Need a wheel expert!
I have a 997 turbo and I was looking for winter wheels. The stock front wheel for a turbo is an 8.5x19 with a 56mm offset. The 4s wheels however are 8x19 with a 57mm offset. Can I use 4s wheels? Will it affect handling or tire wear? Do I need a spacer to make it work?
both wheels come with the same sized tire 235/35/19.
PS-The rear tires are the same size, tire, and offset so they're a non issue by the way.

Search for a wheel offset calculator (1010tires.com)
Inner clearance of the wheel is 5mm more.
Outer position of the wheel is retracted 7mm.
Use a 7mm spacer to get the same outer position as stock.

Is having the wrong offset what's making my car feel a little more floaty than usual or is it just the difference between winter vs summer tires?
Please educate me!

A spacer will adjust both measurements. 5mm would be fine. With a 5mm spacer the:
Inner clearance of the wheel is 10mm more.
Outer position of the wheel is retracted 2mm.
Most people use a spacer to get back to stock outer position or extend the outer position for a more aggressive look.

The spacing on a 4s vs. a turbo should be near the same. You can add a spacer if you choose to, but you would probably be fine without it. a mm of two isn't going to affect this fitment. If using the set as a snow fitment, it's actually nicer to have them a bit inside the well - it traps the snow and keeps it from getting thrown up the side of the car. If you don't like the way they fit, then add a 7mm spacer (which I have, by the way )
Snow tires are softer and will slow down the steering response some, so don't be alarmed if they feel a bit slower than the performance summer tires do.
