Tire Size - 997 c4
I know tire size is important for the c4, but I have no idea whats I can run. I want to get some winter tires for it soon. What I currently have is..
295/30zr19
235/35/zr19
I know there is some 5% rule or something, can someone point me to how to make the calculations on this? Thanks a ton.

I recently bought a 2009 C4S and have 295/30/19 tires on the rear...but it seems everything I read is my car should have 305/30/19 on the rear. Funny thing is that they gave me the original window sheet for my car and it came with 19x11 wheels and 295/30/19 tries...wonder why my car (and now I have seen others) did not come with the 305 tires? Did you have to order the "Sport" wheels (19x11.5) to get the 305 tires? Also has anyone put a 305 tire on a 19x11 wheel?

I use 295s on my 19x11 lobsters (winters) for my 4S.
But I have 305's mounted on my 19x12 summer rims. i think you can run the 295's on the 11.5 rim but depends if this is going to be a winter / snow tire setup.

I have seen the 305 on a 11.5in wheel (Porsche Sport wheel) and it looks good.

The 305's on a 11" rim would look a bit bulbous I think (i.e.; the tire would project out past the rim lip too far for aesthetics). Functionally, it will work but won't match the profile of your front tire/rim combo.

Thanks and yeah that is what I am thinking. I don't want my tries stretched (that hurts handling) but i don't want them bulging either.
My Porsche Motorsports shop has a set of HRE 795r (older model) 20x8.5 / 20x12 - 245/30/20 / 325/25/20 for a very good deal. Those rear 325 are massive and would look perfect on my C4S...and the wheels were ordered for a C4S and the person bailed on them (that is why the good deal as they have been sitting there). My 997 is there now having the front end sprayed (long story as Porsche scratched it and is now fixing it with no argument) and they said they would throw these on the car so I could come by and see them...I think I might at least see what it looks like??? I am just going to be hating the cost of replacing 325 tire's...LOL
PS I would keep my stock wheels for track days, autocross, etc...

I got a 996 C4S with 18" 225 in the Front and 295 in the Rear
I found a set of 17" twists with winter tires 225/45/17.
Do you guys think will fit?
The clearance in the Front from the brake to the wheel is about 1"
