6x16 C2 wheels for 944 front...
ive got two 6x16 C2 wheels that i want to run on the front of my 88 944S
im wondering if
1. is this bad to do considering the car came with 7" wide wheels stock?
even if i can run the stock width 215 tires on both rims...
2. does anyone want to trade their 7x16 C2s for 6x16s ?
thanks

in reference to this post: 16" tire thread
today i took off one of my front phonedials and tried to test fit one of the 6x16 C2 wheels on the 944... well.. it doesnt really fit. The dust cap area, or whatever you call that middle part where the center-cap closes up isnt deep enough on the 6" wheel.. it wobbles.. and doesnt sit flush on the hub/bolts ... why? i thought this was a direct fit, at least thats what the guy who used to run these on his 944 told me. so the question is this, will 7" wide C2s clear my dustcap? i test fitted one of the 8" wide rears and it did indeed clear it fine, the tunnel in the middle was quite deep, but just isnt on these 6" ones. here are some gratuitous pics:
phonedial picture from inside
6" wide c2 picture from inside
another one showing how shallow it is.. bleh
phonedial has a deep space...
my hub.. it isnt oddly large is it?
another angle. looks fine eh?
oh yea.. look at the bolts.. some have rust on the inside area, is that bad? could they rust through? that would suck wouldnt it? is there anything i can coat them with or something to protect em? thanks..

Wouldn't a spacer be needed here?
If you look at the phone dial there seems to be a small lip where the wheel mounts to the hub.
On the c2 rim there isnt one. I would think a spacers would be needed.

doesnt fit , even with centercap removed
and the 8" version fits...
will the 7" version fit? someone has got to be running these wheels...
i think i would rather run 7" fronts than 6" with spacer if they will actually fit.
