First of all, I'm planning to get street wheels & tyres but before I'm able to do that, I'm thinking of getting Kumho Ecsta V700s' and since I don't drive a lot on street, weekends, to & from the track etc. would I be ok with these tyres with occasional street use or should I get street tyres?
I know they're not legal but I can live with that.
Also, is 225/45 & 275/40 too wide rear set-up or should I get 255's for rear (I currently have 225 & 255 and I'm favor of oversteer type of set up so I don't want my car to become understeer).
Heat cycling I'm planning to do but how about shaving, I 'searched' and some said it's better to shave them & that you'll get more miles and (naturally) more grip but couldn't get clear answer and thought not to shave them?

Ecsta V700's are street legal.
I have 225/275's on my 7 & 9 inch cup wheels with no problem.
Non-shaved is fine for autox but others have commented that for DE you can have problems if you don't shave them.
I heat cycled mine at the first autocross as tire rack was out of stock for cycled tires when I ordered mine.
You will be very happy with the difference in grip between these tires and normal street tires like SO2's. It's an incredible difference on an autocross course. For street use, they just will not last as long. My car is a daily driver so I bought an extra set of cup wheels for $400 and put the Kumho's on them.

I've used my Kumho Ecsta V700's, unshaven, for around 6 DE days so far, with no problems. They are DOT legal - I put them on and drive to and from the track.

Here's what I use sneeking around town for testing and tuning between events.
Goodyear 12"x25.5 on 18" BBS magnesium center, 3 piece wheels.
Definitely not DOT legal and not a lot of fun in the rain either.
