Bridgestone So3's
does anyone have any experience with the new bridgestone SO3's? I heard they are really good tires in dry weather. I'm thinking about getting those on my new wheels. thanks.

I just put a set on my 951. I'd tell you I love them, but they are replacing a set of worn out Dunlops, so it's difficult to say if they are superior to any other tire. I really like the look and they seem fairly quiet on the open road. I generally don't drive in the rain and I've only had the tires for a month, so I'll have to leave wet weather comments to someone else.
I bought mine through Tire Rack, and that's why I decided to reply to your post. The set ran me $760 with shipping and I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase. I went with 225/45x17 on the front and 255/40-17 on the rear. The rears look massive!

I have the S-03s on my 17 inche wheels (which are for sale), and I'm also putting them on my 18s. I can't comment on the noise because any tire on my car is noisy on concrete due to the spherical bearings, but they do ride OK even with a stiff suspension.
I drive a lot in the rain and they will plow through a heavy downpour like it's not there.
Dry traction is also superb, as are corning feel and braking. Easily the best tire I've had.
As for 10" rims... I'll be fitting 65 offset in the rear and I don't think you'd be able to go much lower than that... 60 would be cutting it close to the fender, depending how low your car sits.

These are C2 turbo 3 piece rims. So would the offset be any different? I want a big lip on the back of my car. That's why im getting 3 piece wheels. 60 mm doesn't sound so big. with the new M3 you can get a 24 offset. That's a big lip!

I just replaced my Pirellis with the S03! They are fantastic. They grip much better, are quiet and I think look better. I bought the standard 928 GTS size of 225/45/17 and 255/40/17.
My Pirellis only lasted 12k miles, I just hope these can do as well but after reading about the S02 - maybe not.
P.S. Tom P. - Nice web site!

Pretty soon my front S02s and rear S02s will be worn out at about the same time. since S02s are no longer available, I will have to switch. I am undecided actually between the new S03's and Pirelli PZeros Nero. When people comment on tires on Rennlist, it is often a bit like a stock broker giving advice: every stock broker says something different.

993RS - I agree!
Before I bought my S03 I read a bunch of posts from the 928 group on tires and somewhat to my surprise they generally "echoed" the comments and ratings on the Tirerack web site.
My suggestion is to use their feedback system to get the tire attributes you desire - worked for me.

Not sure what size S-02's you are looking for but
try this:
<a href="http://www.tirerack.com/tires/bridgestone/bs_s02.jsp" target="_blank">S-02 @ Tire Rack</a>
Tire Rack essentially no longer offers S-02PP's.
FWIW I just installed S-03's and while they are new and a little squishy I have the feeling I will like them. Continental's were on the car when I bought it so what do I know (other than I really hated those tires). The only good thing about the Conti's is they wore out real fast.
