Post 986 wheels on 951

I have boxter wheels on my 87 951 the factory states i sould use 36psi front and rear, with stock tires. what should i use with the boxter wheels and tires. What is the factory recomended tire pressure for a boxter. I think it weights the same as a 951.

The Technical Service Bulletin that deals with fitting 17" wheels on the 944 or 944 Turbo recommend 36 psi front and rear with the 17" wheels and tires. In reality you can use whatever you want. I usually run them a few psi lower. This assumes you have 17s and not 16s, but there really shouldn't be much difference between the two.

Yeah, on the street I usually set my tires to 30psi cold (about 35hot). Better ride and more even tire wear that way.

When I'm at the track, I'll use 36psi-cold for about 40psi-hot pressure.
