'89 911 wheels on '84 944??
My neighbor recently told me that he has a brand new set of Fuchs alloys off of his '89 911 which he took off the week he bought the car to put custom rims on. He sold the car,.. and offered me the original rims for my '84 944. Does anybody know if they will fit?

Dear Seth,
You need to confirm the offsets for your 1984 944 but I think they are the same as my (my daughters now) 1985.5 944 which means they are 23.3mm front and rear.
The 911 Fuchs (15 inch) do not fit but if these are 16 inch they may but you need to check the wheels themselves for the offset. I am reluctant to say exactly what they are but I suspect they may be 52.3mm offset. The offset is stamped in the wheel.
Ciao,
Adrian.

Offsets on 911 16" Fuchs are 6" 36mm, 7" 23mm, 8" 10.6mm, and while we're at it, 9" 15mm. The 944 turbo Fuchs 16" 7's and 8's have 23mm offset, but are shaped to fit over the larger 944T brake calipers. I'd be surprised if the 911 rims would fit.
