Question weight of 944 wheels

Does anyone have a reference for the weights of 944 rims, esp the cookie cutters and phone dial 15x7?

Any pros and cons of these (or others) for use on track?

I asked the same question the other day on the gen'l 944 board. There is a site which has a decent compilation. www.simplygreen.org

Quite a few of the above numbers are incorrect. I went through the same process as you before I decided on my forgelines (which I will never give up).

The fuchs are lighter than the weights mentioned above. I believe my 951 fuchs were 14lbs front and 16lbs rear. The forged "S" wheels on the 952s are also lighter than mentioned above. The most accurate seems to be the phonedials, as they are relatively heavy. I believe mine were 18 and 20 lbs.

To give you an idea I started with phonedials (relatively heavy), tried cup wheels (tirerack - and not that much heavier than phonedials, contrary to popular belief), then went to fuchs (very light but don't fit very wheel without spacers), and ended up with the forgelines (light, strong, good looking, and wide).

Best of Luck

Erick
