Dear Art,
Depends. If you have the factory sports suspension and the upgraded brakes the answer is no. They will not fit over the calipers. Believe it or not Porsche also issued a Technical Service Bulletin on this subject as well.
The 944 Fuchs have a redesigned inside, sort of skimmed to fit over the calipers. The 911 Fuchs do not.
The 1986 model is easier to deal with but I would highly recommend a trial fit. If your 944 was stock standard I would suggest they will fit. I am not going to say without problems because that is a recipe for disaster. You should fit them and see. Do not forget that the tyres you install will also make a difference. Wheel rim width as long as you stick with 7 inches wide up front and 8 inches on the rear, should be okay. Never believe, "They will fit with no problems". Always check yourself,
Ciao,
Adrian
