I've looked at a table of offsets and it looks like the Turbo S can have 52 in front,
or if Sports Club package 60 in front, or if M030 package 65 in front.
I'll have to find a 52 wheel with 225x50x16
tire on it and try it out to make sure I dont have clearance problems

Dear Pat,
Pop across to the 964 forum and ask if anyone has a set of 1990 964 Cup design wheels for sale. They are 52.3mm offset 6JX16 front and 8JX16 rears. Or get four rears which easily take up to 245s. You should be able to pick these up fairly cheap. I have a set available but I live in Switzerland and shipping will set you back too many dollars,
Ciao,
Adrian.

I believe a number of the 928 wheels had 60 - 65 mm offsets as well. This may enhance your options. I haven't pinged the 928 boards, but could be worth a shot.

Almost, it's the distance between the centerline of the wheel and the mounting surface. Zero offset has the mountin surface centered between the flanges. 52mm offset has the mounting surface about 2" towards the outside. I'm using a set of 16x10.5" wheels all around with 245/45-16. Offset was INCREASED about 12mm more than stock to place most of the extra width on the inside (since there's more room on the inside, outside will can easily run into the fender).
Watch out when using 911 wheels on your 951; the spokes won't clear the big brakes. I think only the later 993 wheels will clear.
For the price, I think CCW is the best deal. For $1375 you get a custom-sized and fitted set of wheels in any size you want. I'm going to order a set of 17x10.5/11.5" for track tires.
I've got a FAQ on wheels and their measurements on my website at http://members.rennlist.org/951_racerx

I ended up going with a set of 17x10.5/11.5" BBS Racing Wheels instead. For more of that 'classic' Porsche look. Not to mention the CCW wheels are really popular with the Mustang/'Vette/Viper guys who track their cars.
Complete Custom Wheels can be found at:

The guy's name is John Pournelle and he's definitely a hot-rodder, so don't come down to hard on the muscle-car crowd.

This thread is more than a year old, and frankly quoting someone from that period hardly seems useful.
Robert Wood was helpful to me from 1989 until I bought my last wheels from him several years later. I'm sorry your experience with him doesn't seem to be positive, but I believe I was simply saying, "Seek advice from someone who deals in wheels." Conversation about him a year later . . . well I don't know.
