Post Hunter 9700 Vibration Detection System

If your tire shop does not use a Hunter 9700 system for balancing wheels you really need to find one that does. I have gone to a shop that has a 9500 and techs that are careful and that do a good job.

However, I have had a persistent very mild front end shake that I have been chasing for some time. I finally got a tip on the 9700 from K2S on the boxster board and found a shop in my area that has one of the magic machines. Hunter has a nationwide 9700 locator on their website.

The machine quickly determined that the problem lie in the right front. Due to wheel and tire being out of round I have peak rolling resistance of 35lbs. (under 19 is ideal) Tech used computer to determine best placementof that tire on that wheel and marked it up and spun it on the wheel as told to by 9700. Rebalanced and rolling resistance dropped to 10lbs.

On the road it is incredible. Same tire and wheel and now NO vbration NONE. I love it. I'm sold and a customer of that machine for life. <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />
