What to do when you need only TWO SO2's?
I will need to replace my rear SO2's soon but the fronts are in great shape. Any suggestions, given the SO2's are no longer being made?

Tangram,
Try <a href="http://www.aktiresusa.com" target="_blank">www.aktiresusa.com</a>
I've gotten used s-02s with 40%-60% tread from them in the past and they do ship to you. About $50 a tire.

Everyone else will puke, but I think its safe to mix tires. You can run S03s in the rear, or AVS Sports, and they will work fine. What you need to remember is that the fronts and rears do very different things, with different suspensions, differnt tire sizes, different weights, and different tire pressures. All of these differences mean that the different tires are not all that noticible. You may end up with a slightly stickier tire in the rear, or a slightly less sticky tire. Your driving will quickly adjust just like it does to different fuel loads and passenger weights. I wouldn't sweat it too much.

You should check with distributors up there. One of them may have some SO2's sitting around. I know that a local dealer here in Saint Louis did a couple of months ago when I was looking at tires.

If you want to mix different brand of tires, try to go with the closest pattern possible or type. For example, when I had to replace my SO2 at the rear, I went with Sumitomo.
