Question on 996 rims

11" rear are just "too wide" for 986...
You can run up to 8.5" and in some case up to 9" at the rear with the stock wheel arches. <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[nono]" />

Hunter is correct. However, you can easily fit a rear wheel of up to 10" wide provided the offset is correct. Look here for some possibilities:
