Need help with wheels and tires
I am looking to get a set of racing wheels and tires. I have a 2011 C4S and wanted to go with 18 inch wheels in a 8-9/11-12 f/r format.
Any suggestions on what wheels will fit. Those brakes are big and strong Don't have the cash right now for HRE/FOrgeline/ champion. Looking for alternative .
Thanks

Used turbo twists are great deals, especially the nice hollows which can be found for ~ $900. Downside is that it will take some patience watching the for-sale forum for possibly a few months.
You can find threads on the Victors, such as this one on the 996 forums which has plenty of photos and comments. I bought a set of the Victor Innsbruck wheels (stock size for me: 8" / 11") and am happy so far. I remember someone recommending the OZ Ultraleggera HLT's, but I also have heard people recommending against lightweight cast wheels on high power cars. YMMV.
I'd love to get a set of Fikse Profil 10's which seem like they fit the strong, lightweight, and good looks (IMO of course). But the usual saying applies: "strong, light, inexpensive. Pick any 2." as they tend to run well over $2k used. What worries me a little about the Victor Innsbruck is that they're supposedly meeting all three (and 'light' and 'inexpensive' are easily and objectively measurable).
Best guess at some weights for 8x18 11x18, in pounds:
17.8 / 23.4 OZ Allaggerita HLT (12x18 rear since they don't make a 11x18)
18.8 / 19.4 Victor Innsbruck (no official weights available, this isn't verified and rear doesn't seem right)
20.6 / 24.5 BBS RS-GT (about $800 per wheel from Tire Rack)
20.7 / 26.2 OEM Sport Techno (needs 15mm spacers in rear)
21.3 / 26.2 OEM Turbo Twist hollow
22.6 / 27.7 OEM 996 GT3 2004
26.2 / 32.0 OEM Turbo Twist solid
My wheels came pre-mounted with tires, so I couldn't weigh them alone.

many thanks
Wow that is as complete a synopsis as anyone could ever hope for.
Thanks.
Since I am trying to stay on a budget as I know I could easily blow past it, your suggestions are right in my ballpark. I too am concerned a little about the victor equipment. I am looking into a set of turbo twists (not hollow), just need the seller to verify the offsets will fit my 997.2.
After your reply I will see what I can get in the OZ wheels. So far other posts seem to praise this wheel.
Stay tuned
Thanks.
