2002 996 with 8x18 and 10x18.
Most important to me is lateral / steering response. Wear and noise not important.
This is a daily spirited driver with 2 DEs per year. I have the RoW M030 suspension with a beefier rear sway bar.

I recently swapped my second set of AD07s for the new Michelin Supersports. I loved the AD07s and considered AD08s for the replacement. I was swayed by the unbelieveable Michelin tread wear warranty....27,500km for rears, 55,000 km for fronts. Considering that my car has 85,000 km and this is my 8th set of tires, I found it hard to resist. Pricing was approximately the same.
I can't give you track impressions until next week, but turn-in and lateral response, compared to my thoroughly trashed AD07s, was markedly improved. Suspension on my 2001 996 C2 is PSS9.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I can't get the Super Sports in the 285 30 18 - not sure when Michelin will make them.
I've read nothing but good reviews for the AD08s though. Just looking for other opinions here.

I need tires as well, leaning toward the AD08 as the180 tread wear rating looks like a good all round tire and great for occasional DE, especially if its going to rain. Trouble is this forum doesnt get a lot of traffic. I still have yet to hear anything about release of the super sports in our sizes. I need 295s... bumer eh?

James,
I just ran a two day DE on a new set of the Yokohamas you are looking at. Although I cannot compare them to Michelins, I was pleased with the performance and feedback. Grip was considerable and they did talk when approaching the limit of adhesion. Temperature was in the mid 90s both days and the Neovas held up well in the heat. I will not be running these every day as they are a track alternative to my street 19's so the 180 treadwear rating is not a concern.
