Default What alternate tire sizes work?

I'm looking for new tires, my rears are 245/45R16, and my options are limited. I was wondering if I could go wider to a 255/45R16 and be OK and potentially open up a new list of options.

The car is a 944 Turbo S. stock wheels.

The only street line that TR carries in 245/45 x16 seems to be the Fuzion ZRi

there are a bunch of track oriented choices in that size though

the thing to be concerned w/ is the increase in tire rolling radius which will affect gearing. A 245/45 x16 is ~24.6" tall, 245/50 x16 is ~ 25.7" that will make a noticeable difference in your acceleration curves

TR has no 255/45 x16 tires. You will find that not all theoretical sizes are actually available, so you do need to do some research

I think I'm gonna make my life easier and pick up a spare set of wheels.
