Default 964 rear tires question

The manual (and all other resources) say 225 55 16s are standard rears for 964 C2s. My 964 came from previous owner with 245 50 16s.
I like the looks but am wondering if this is a bad fitment, can cause problems (rubbing or the like)?
Time for new tires. Don't know if I should, or even can (not sure of wheel width) to standards 225 55s.
Any thoughts?

If your wheels are 8" (52.5 offset?), a 245 should fit. If it had 245s on it before, did they rub?
The problem is finding 245s for a 16" wheel, not many choices in that size.
I have the standard 205 front, 225 rear set up for the street, and it's fine. It certainly doesn't look as good as the 225 frnt, 255 rear set up on 17s though.
