Question Repainting mag wheels ?

I got a set of White Speedline magnesium wheels (Corse). After reading that corrosion is bad thing for magnesium wheels, I've started considering wheter I should get wheels repainted. There's small paint cracks visible in the lip of the rim, which means that paint is not protecting the wheel itself anymore.

question is, that can you sandblast + paint mag wheels as you can aluminium ones, or is there something else in the process which should be taken into account?

what comes to cracking wheels, has anyone done x-raying or such for wheels to see if they're ok or not?

I've heard that powdercoat is a better process for magnesium as adhesion of paint is an issue on the metal.

but generally it's ok to sandblast them first (get old paint off), and then powdercoat..?

Yes, but not with sand, most likely a less abrasive media blasting would be used.
