OT (somewhat)- Tires for Subaru?
I haven't bot tires in so long for anything other than track or a P-car, I'm wondering what to put on my wife's Subaru wagon. Some I know might say it doesn't matter- but I (like you, I suspect) think tires are very important irrespective of the vehicle.
Atlanta has gone from no-rain to all-rain so wet performance is a salient factor.
Anyone have a recommendation?
TIA

All year round daily driver. From stinking hot in the summer to wet (after several years of drought, it now rains heaps in Ga) and just occasional sub 32F weather.

She has Bridgestone Potenza RE92As right now and they seem fair at best in the dry and poor in the rain (hydroplane easily) so we'll try something else.
Tire Rack suggest General Altimax HP (among others) in the Grand Touring category- may try those.
What about Sumitomo- the last street tire for the 964 was the HTR Z III and it was great for the money nearly approaching the Michelin PS.

I am told the Sumi, AS's get noise. I ran a set if Eagle GT's and they were really nice in the rain, not as good as the RE962's but good. for sure and they are cheap!

We have used the Falken 912 Zeix. Good all around tire that is quiet. Not very expensive, but provides grip and wet grip of more expensive tires...
The Hankook Ventus V4 ES is also a great tire that will provide good grip, wet or dry...
Both are all seasons...
