Should look great!

The tires are a little scary looking. There's pretty much no tread! Are the MPSC's directional? I know they have an"outside", but can they be swapped side to side and reverse the direction to extend the wear?
They are asymmetric and should not be flipped. The rubber compound changes from inside to outside and if flipped they will wear differently and quickly.

They are tested, and approved to the same JWL, VIA, TUV, and standards as forged wheels.

For real comparison and to give you guys some hard data I decided to match the load ratings of the low pressure cast, shot peened, and heat treated Alleggeritas to some forged wheels of the same size:

OZ Alleggerita 18 x 8.5, 40 ET = 1234 lbs.

BBS LM 18 x 8.5 = 1576 lbs
BBS RS-GT 18 x 8.5 = 1573 lbs.
SSR GT3 18 x 8.5 = 1518 lbs.
TRM F2 18 x 8.5 = 1620 lbs.
Volk TE37 = 1521 lbs.

Now, compare this to a gravity cast Enkei NT03 = 1576 lbs.

In theory the gravity cast wheel should have the lowest load capacity, but this one is right up there with forged wheels. Why? How it's shaped certainly, but also the quality of the construction. Enkei makes a very good wheel. The OZ may not have the highest load capacity, but it's close. And with a total rated capacity at almost 5000 lbs for the set this is CERTAINLY higher than the GAWR of the car.

Lateral load stresses certainly come into play when using a wheel on the track. That's one reason why even forged wheels break, and why it's imperative that all wheels used on the track be checked for cracks once in awhile. There is no such thing as a wheel that won't bend, break or crack if pushed too hard. How the wheel is made, in the long run, only really determines how long it eventually takes to happen if used on the track. Just the weights change.

Love the Dymag implosion pic. Case in point, here's a forged, one piece SSR Competition similiar to the OZ. It took him very little track time to do this to his wheel because he over-drove them and didn't inspect them for cracks once in awhile....

The other wheels were close.....

Hopefully this helps keep everything in context.

Damon, OZ's site says these are available in 17" sizes. Do you have a complete list of the sizes?

Thanks.

Should look great!

The tires are a little scary looking. There's pretty much no tread! Are the MPSC's directional? I know they have an"outside", but can they be swapped side to side and reverse the direction to extend the wear?
You will melt the lug caps and tape stripe when you track the car? The heat transfer to the wheels is incredible...that is why we do not allow valve stem caps at DE's.

I knew the lug caps would melt (hadn't planned on running them at the track), but I didn't even think about the tape stripe...

I may give the stripe a try anyway. Worse case is I have a gooey mess to clean up

I have vinyl decals on my calipers (3 years now) after having them PC'd yellow and they haven't melted yet (knock on wood). Oddly enough the decals are holding up great and the yellow is now slowly turning into a gray color from the track use.

What is the load rating for a stock 996 wheel?

Great question. Ditto for a 6GT3 wheel.

Has anyone fit these on a NB 996 yet? I got mine and mounted them tonight. I have some issues with the front fitment. I was shipped an 8.5x18 front with an offset of 53.

You can't see the wheels, but here's my running on them at Daytona this weekend. More pics/review on the wheels to follow.

They initially sent the fronts with an offset of 53 which had 2 problems. 1) The inside edge of the wheel was about 2mm from the spring perch on my pss9's. Way too close. 2) The fitment just looked weird. The wheel was tucked way inside the fender well.

I had them send me 8.5x18 with an et40 and the fit was perfect. I do get some slight rubbing at full lock with my Pilot Sport Cups, but those tires are stupid wide for 225's. I had 245 street tires and they're as wide or wider.

The rears were 18x11 et63. The fit is great back there.

So my suggestion, at least for 996 owners is 18x11 et63 and 18.8.5 et40. The fit is very nice (the wheels are pushed out to the perfect position) and there is plenty of clearance.

As I said before, if you're running a Sport Cup on the front, don't go larger than 225 as they're much wider (for whatever reason) than the equivalent 225 or even 235's in regular street tires.

So far I love the wheels and noticed a big difference in handling. I've only don't one event so far but they've held up nicely. I've gotten a ton of compliments on the appearance as well.

As an added bonus, they do allow a ton of space for brake cooling which can only help at DE events.

The wheels are a little hard to see because they're black, but here's a shot of me staging to get out on the track.
