Default Silver Wheel Touch Up Paint

Does anyone have a good source for the Silver Paint used on the older wheels?

My wheels are from 1990 (Design 90) and they have some minor curb rash which I would like to touch up by hand using a paint brush. Has anyone done this before and were you able to find a paint that matches? Is it a bad idea?

I want to avoid a full respray since the center of the wheels have body matching paint.

Any suggestions or direction would be appreciated.

Its a rattle can. You could always mask it. And don't forget the clear

Thank you for the link

Have you used it and can you tell me what the consistency is?

I'm thinking of maybe spraying it into a container and using a brush to apply since it would be very difficult to mask the area I want to paint.

I was going to suggest that. I bought some to redo some Benz bundt wheels but I am basically a lazy person so I bought some brand new zero use wheels that had been spares.

fwiw, I've been told that '94 Toyoto silver is a very good match. You may be able to pick up a touch up bottle at your local parts store or dealer.

I think you can get the Wurth paint from Paragon or Pelican as well.

Thanks for the additional suggestions. I'm going to give the Wurth's a try as soon as it warms up. I will post back the results and a few before/after shots.

Thanks again.

Marine Blue: I tried the Wurth silver on a set of turbo twist wheels and it didn't match. Picture shows the result. Be careful, maybe spray into a cup and use a brush. I ended up refinishing all 4 wheels.

Bummer, I just bought the can last week.

I won't be spraying it on though, I plan on spraying the paint into a container as suggested and brushing it on. I will probably use Langka to smooth the paint and hopefully blend it.

My wheels are in good shape really, just a few nics from a tire shop which damaged some of the edges (not really curb rash). I'll post some pictures of the results. If this doesn't work I can always remove the paint and try one of the other suggested alternatives but I do hope I don't have to go that route.

Dang, I was going to use the wurth to touch up my twists like those.

You might have better luck with the color on your d90s.

FYI, I tried applying the Wurth Paint with a brush and results were average at best. The paint is very runny and doesn't brush on very easily. The paint match wasn't very good either, I suspect this is due to change in wheel color over the past 20 years. The painted scratches are not as noticeable from 3 ft but up close they are obvious.

I'm going to go to a body shop to determine if they can mix some touch up paint for me to match the wheels. May be a while before I get to this again.
