Default Hoosier slicks too much for novice DE

I have a 993tt and want to know if it is a good idea to buy a set of used Hoosiers for DE events? I am a beginner and currently running street tires.

Go with Toyo R888's. More stick than street tires and you can still street them. Also, more forgiving than Hoosies and more stick than street. I have a new set on the way after much research and pinging around on the 'list.

Even experienced DEers do wonders with street tires...

Better to experience and learn the limits of street tires before you make the switch to track tires.

Seat time/car control over equipment...

R888s are a great tyre and probably more like a slick than a road tyre. I like them a lot.
