Damon,

You recommend:

"996 Widebody:

If your car has 18 x 11" stock wheels in the rear, there are no snow tires that will fit them. Pirelli makes a 295/35 18 Winter 240 Snowsport, but it's a bit tall for use on AWD cars at 26.1" 265 is the widest recommended and will need a 10" wide wheel.

We recommend the Sport Edition Cup 3 wheel in 18 x 8.5" 52 ET front and 18 x 10 ET 65 rear with a supplied 21mm spacer and longer bolts.

18X8.5 5-130 POR ET52 Sport Edition Cup 3 $259.00 each
18X10 5-130 POR ET65 Sport Edition Cup 3 $279.00 each
H&R 21MM SPACER/ADAPTER w/bolts $145.00 per pair"

My question:

I have a 18 x 10 65 set of rear wheels available for mounting with the Snowsport. Will I need the spacer/adapter w/ bolts on my C4S? Is that available alone from you guys?

Damon,
I have to call you out on that one: you sold me a set 2 years ago citing that was the correct fit which was verified by the parts manager at my dealership btw. If you're running fronts at 235/40/18 and rears at 295/35/18 then the rolling diameter is fine and PSM and ABS work properly. I realize that Tire Rack wants to sell wheels sets as well, but running those slightly taller tires in the rear is not a problem...especially since you recommended it! Please see the pics and judge for yourself.

With a 235 front, no problem. In the context of my description DON'T run them with 225's.

Thanks for helping me clarify.

What about studded tires for a 996 C4?

...in sizes:
205/50 17
255/40 17

How do speed ratings work for studded tires?

Thanks!

Default GT3

Damon,

What are my options this year for a 2005 GT3? I've previously had good luck with Nokian and Pirelli SottoZero 240s but don't see sizing for those that would fit my OEM 18" wheels. Is the Blizzak LM-60 the only choice and is it a good one? Or am I better off with a wheel/tire package? I already have 19" HREs and the OEM 18s ... I'm not sure I want a third set hanging around.

Thanks,
Josh

That or you would rather not handle and transport your dirty and awkward tires and wheels.
