Thinking to try some new tire size for my 993 C2S
The factory tire size my my 993 C2S is:
Front 225/40-18
Rear 285/30-18
I want to try a different profile, like:
Front 225/45-18
Rear 285/35-18
What do you guys think?
Scott

Hi Scott
You were asking about tire size options for your 993; I have a 1995 993 for track use.
It wears 245/40 and 275/35x18 Toyo RAIs; a bit different from your set up. I have minor tire rubbing on the fronts; acceptable for track use (I hope to never have the wheel at full lock!) but it would be a pain for street use.
My street/rain tires are 225/40 and 255/35x18 Goodyear Eagle F1s and there should be good clerance, but I have not actually driven with them yet.
Hope this helps

Scott, the fitment will be real close up front. You are going up in OD over a half inch from stock and it could rub. Rears should be OK at stock ride height. You may tap on hard acceleration squat.

Scott,
Why not try 235/40 - 18s front and 295/30 - 18s rear? I think you will find that the diameter of the 235/40 -18 is actually the same as the 225/40-18. At least it is for the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s.
I wouldn't want to go to a taller (225/35-18) tire. That's just my feeling
