Correct tire size... help
I have a 90 C2. Just bought 18x 8 and 18x 9.5 52mm offset what is the best tire size to use without over doing, and without any oil line rubbing.
TIA.

A 235 in front and a 265 in the rear are probably what I'd get for 8 and 9.5" rims, although one could also go to a 275 for the rear. I thought a 52 offset was on one the narrower 7 and 8X17" wheels, so I don't know about the clearances of those tire sizes on your rims. My experience with Tire Rack is that they will try to answer your questions, and they know more than most of us do about wheel and tire fitments. Of course they want to sell stuff, but they want to insure that you order the stuff that fits too.

Scott - sorry if you had a bad experience with us in the past - give me a chance....
225/40 and 255/35 are the best fit. 235 is too wide up front and may rub with that offset.
Give me a call if I can help you decide the best tire for your purpose. Thanks.

Damon, Don't take it personally, but All I ever get is someone that can only read the screen, and not live the experience, so they generally had no clue. When I contact Vilven or Bob Woodman, they understand and can recommend from experience. I will give you a call or feel free to call me. I need a set of tires and was wondering if anyone has had any luck with the Avon's as an alternative to the Hoosiers, or Toyo's?
