Default Anybody using 19” A052’s on GT4?

My current stash of Re-71r’s will be exhausted soon. A052’s sound like a good replacement for the time being. Curious about what sizes in the 19” category might work. Thanks in advance.

235 / 275 come closest to the OEM diameters, but I'm not sure how well that step down in width would work. They do have a 245 / 295 in 20" that's the same as the 718-generation OEM sizing, but they're very new and I haven't found a supplier carrying them yet.

Thanks. I was concerned about the step down in width as well, although they are said to run a bit wide.

FWIW, Tire Rack says 60-90 days wait on the 19” A052’s. Discount Tire has no time frame at all.

Unfortunately Yokohama does not offer the AO52 compound in the ideal sizes for a GT4, however, they do offer their AD08R in some GT4 friendly sizes.

Here is an up to date list of notable 19" tires from the GT4 Wheel & Tire Fitment Guide on our website. Full racing slicks are not included in the list, but this should be helpful.

Ryan, I have been working my way through your tire guide, and I really appreciate your effort in pulling this together for me. The Nankang appear to be workable, though as of yet, I have been unable to find a U.S. source for them. Thanks again.

Glad to hear the guide has been helpful. For Nankangs, try Phils Tire Service and Rennscot.

I've used the Nankang AR-1s on 19" SM-10 wheels (9" F, 11" R). I've been quite happy with them on track, and put them in the same ballpark as the Cup 2 and Sport Maxx Race 2.

Would you mind sharing your tire sizes? My rims are 8.5/10. Not sure I can find a workable pairing with the Nankang sizes that are out there right now. Tks.

265/35R19 on the front and 305/30R19 on the rear. Note that I do get some very mild rubbing at the rear:

Thanks. The 305’s likely wouldn’t work with my 10” rims anyway. Looks as though I am SOL with these tires till they start making them in more sizes.

Agreed. Widest I would go on your 8.5" f. / 10" r. wheels would be 255/35-19 f. / 285/35-19 r.

265/35-19 front tires currently have the most availability, but you would need to step up to 9" front wheels for proper sidewall support (as well as wider 10.5" or 11" rears).

I run 18’s, and bought a set of A052’s to start this season off as a replacement for RE71’s...just a heads up, they lasted about half as long (or less) as RE71’s did for me. GREAT tire on track, but be prepared for significantly shorter life. Now that I’m seeing RS4s in stock again I’m going to switch back to them.

Quick Reply: Anybody using 19” A052’s on GT4?
