Forgeline Motorsports Celebrates 25 Years of Engineered Excellence
Hey guys! I thought I would drop a friendly introduction:
My name is Derek Roberts, I am a technical sales specialist at Forgeline Motorsports, and I'll be serving as your liaison between the Rennlist forum and the many resources available at Forgeline. I'll also be trying to share some our relevant content in future posts.
This year (2019), we are celebrating our 25 year anniversary, as we started making our very first racing wheel specifically for the competitive road racing market, the RS, back in 1994. Fast forward 25 years to 2019. Today, our products are much more advanced than our original RS wheel, and our manufacturing operation is a bit larger. But we are still in Dayton, Ohio (just a few yards away from original building),we are still 100% owned and managed by our founders Dave and Steve Schardt, and the bread-and-butter of our market is still about selling high-quality wheels that are engineered for the highest levels of road racing.
A big part of that quality and reliability equation can be attributed to the fact that we engineer and manufacture everything in house. We start with 100% American-made aerospace 6061-T6 aluminum forgings from APP (the premier forging supplier in the US), and then we do everything else all under one roof, here in Dayton. The engineering, machining, pre-finish,and powder coating is all done in-house where we can control the quality and the schedule. This allows us to keep order turnaround times within a 4 to 6 week average. And it allows us to fix most problems that may arise, long before they can become a problem for our customers. (We even have a very nice Corghi touchless tire changer and Hunter balancing machines. So if you have concerns about the local tire shop damaging your wheels, then we can mount your tires for you too, thus eliminating one more potential risk factor from your purchase experience.
Because of our background in road racing, we also engineer our wheels -especially our Competition Series wheels - to load rating standards that far exceed those of the average wheel. Every wheel that we make is load rated for three different tire friction coefficients, and our technical sales team works hard to make sure that our customers are investing in wheels that are suitable for their intended application. Our unique understanding of the demands of competitive sports car racing and our 25 year history of engineering, manufacturing, and supporting wheels in this environment has given us a level of expertise that very few otherwheel manufacturers can match. Today, our flagship racing wheel, the one piece forged monoblock GS1R, has set the bar at the highest levels of road racing and earned its way onto homologated factory racing platforms including the Ford Mustang GT4, Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R, and Panoz Avezzano GT4.
So that's more than enough from me for now. Hopefully I'll be able to share some of your vehicle projects, here in the forum, if/when you choose to get your own set of Forgeline wheels. In the meantime, if I can be of any assistance, then please reach out. Thank you for including me, in your community!
I'll be utilizing this thread to share some of the awesome Porsche pictures and hardworking companies we work with.

We're in love with the gorgeous spec on this 991.2 Targa from AutoCouture. Owner Chris did a great job picking out the finishes and options on this car.
