Okay, let's see what we have time for. Legoland951, oh, yeah she'd have to be towed... Better on a flat bed trailer than the other options.

My biggest problem is that I am flat broke...embarrassing, really. I just called in to work, was suppose to cover for someone else. I'm starting to think they feel I make this up, since similar problems happened with my Celica!

Um, anyone have a good set of used tires, cheap, too?

I guess I'm in the Poorsche house right now.

Yes, to be cheap you can just get a new disk. You can pull back the seal on the TO and stuff some fresh grease in it.

I did this the first time through my first clutch replacement as the clutch had just been replaced before I bought the car.

I replaced the disk again when I had to put a fresh engine in. Get a bit of chatter in slow traffic when I have to keep it in first gear. The flywheel will have to be resurfaced the next clutch replacement.

I'm afraid this is the one area I am lost, guys. Engines, not too difficult. But clutches, oi!

Legoland951, I just might have to take you up on that trailer. We'll see what I can do.

Thanks all, I appreciate your offers of help! Here I was trying to help you all, and you all are trying to help me.

THIS is why I love Rennlist, and even through some of the trouble, why I never give up!

will an 86 clutch fit?
if so i have one for you.
and if everything goes well i think it can be fixed in one day's work
what't the possibility of having the party @ your area Devia?
so we may start on the clutch and not have to worry in taking her /him to another place?

Legoland951, would the '86 clutch fit my car?

Anyway, I live in a townhouse complex, that's all. We do have guest parking, just not a real driveway to park in, but like I said, I have a double car garage.

We can line up 4 - 5 Porsches easily on one side, then there's parking inter-dispersed amongst all the buildings, so 3 sections of easy parking.

Um, I was trying to help teach you all about timing belts, though; the clutch kinda snuck in there, just to mess with me.

Oh, that's great the clutch will fit!

We can change the party over to here, if you all like.

Or it could be a different weekend, and we could still do the Timing Belt party, unless that's too much for everyone.

I'm right at the 5 and 22 freeway, near the Block of Orange, so easy to get to. We have a few different pizza places within a mile, ie, Little Caeser's, Domino's, Pizza Hut, Round Table, and Pappa John's.

Oh, I tried to drive my car back into the garage, but it wouldn't do it all the way; fine, if you don't mind riding the clutch at 1 mile per hour! Started to smell and not get anywhere once I put it into 1st, so I turned it off and she was pushed back into the garage.

It will physically shift into gear, just not want to move when you let up the clutch.

"Hey Julie, how many gallons to the mile do you get!?" comes to mind. Anyway, if you let off the clutch, you can feel vibration through the foot pedal, and nasty grinding noises.

same symptoms i had before, itr was the forward bearing that the torque rod was riding on. that's why i ended up with an extra set of clutch.

i think that's what it's called. the shaft that comes from the clutch to the transmission, this rod(shaft) rides on a bearing up front to eliminate play in the clutch. it keeps the drive shaft( rod) centered at all times. the bearing is on the engine block.
i know because when i did my clutch it had the same symptoms as Devia's.
my bearing was totally gone and welded to the block. i had to break the dremel out in order to install another.
please excuse my naming of the parts as i am not familiar with the proper names.

I think we have enough parts to make just about everything work I have torque tubes along with used just about everything else. Lets get everything together and get something going here.

Pilot bearing. Goes into the end of the crank.

Drive shaft. Goes down the center of the torque tube.

What else? Shasta Diet Cola. Go to the 99 cents stores as the rest want $1.50 for a bottle.

Also a lap top to run the FWSM's. A printer would be great too. Hard to drag the lap top under car to study details.

Carl, yes it would help if you brought the clutch, mine is definitely worn out, acts like it was the original.

We have 2 sets of jack stands and a floor jack, Craftsman tools, air compressor and air hose, probably could use Legoland951's airtools, if he'd like to bring them.

Any new bolts needed? Someone said something about that...

Oh, concerning the FWSM, my roommate has a computer, so we could print out the stuff.

Um, I take that's the car manual, right? I don't have one handy.

Thanks, guys, I really, really appreciate all your help!
