Come on out and enjoy one of the West's longest tracks on June 23-24! Reno-Fernley boasts a 4.1 mile, 25-turn track. It's like a huge autocross on the top, and a horsepower festival on the bottom. Cost for this event will be $200 for one day, $375 for two days. As always, the event will include a supply of bottled water and Gatorade, healthy snacks, catered lunches, instruction, and at least TWO HOURS of track time! The track is 30 miles east of Reno in the bedroom community of Fernley.

I ran out there this weekend with a friend and it looks like a great track. It was booked by a motorcycle group but during their lunch we were allowed to make a loop at 25 MPH to check it out.

The pictures on the link show the track well.

I will be taking some driver training in the coming weeks and will report once I have experienced the track at speed.

From LA you can be here in about 7 - 8 Hrs

Though it may be a long drive for some, it's absolutely worth it! That longish drive is why we traditionally (subject to change as the track gets a little more popular) only do it once a year. If we didn't do RFR at lease once a year, I'd probably have a bunch of angry emails.

Our recommendation for lodging, where discounted room rates are available, is at the Super 8 in Fernley (3-story motel), about six miles from the racetrack. Rates are as follows:

Room with one king bed ~ $67.73 (including tax) per night
Single occupancy, two queen beds ~ $67.73 per night
Double occupancy, two queen beds ~ $73.46 per night
