Several of us from Vancouver Canada are travelling to Laguna Seca, Sonoma and Thunderhill for several track days in early October. We will all have four trailers and trucks etc. We are trying to find somewhere to stay around Sonoma, but with the following needs. Within an hour from track during busy traffic times, somewhat close to the town of Sonoma for evenings out, parking for open trailers safe from criminal activity, respectable but not extravagant, Corvette and Porsche budget, not Ferrari budget. We’ve contemplated a big house we could all share. Have done initial searches on Vrbo. Tentatively we’ve booked at Courtyard Marriott Novato/Sonoma/Marin. But we would like to try to ramp up the experience a bit. We will have five days here as a gap between our Laguna says. Any ideas? Thanks very much.

The Sonoma Mission Inn fits your bill.
I would also recommend that you stay at the brand new Montage Healdsburg for a night, if you guys are into that kind of thing. It's a bit over Porsche budget and just over an hour from the track during traffic, but it's by far the best experience I've had in the wine country.

You could try the The Lodge at Sonoma. It’s a little more upscale and it’s a Marriott property if that matters to you. They have a decent sized parking area in the rear that should be able to accommodate trailers. Depending on your appetite to walk, you can get to downtown Sonoma with places to eat/drink by walking on a cool night.
