Default Summer/Winter tire setup needed in PNW?

I am in the process of buying a Cayenne S Coupe and wondering if I should get 22 inch wheels. The 22s only come with summer performance tires. (they look awesome on coupe!)
Wondering if winter tires are needed in Washington/Seattle area. I rarely drive to the mountains in the winters (not a snow sport person) but do go out from trekking/trails and long drives on not-so-cold days.
My current cars have all-seasons and they served me well for years.
Anybody from PNW have experience having just the summer tires for year around? Do you recommend having winter tire setup?

Thanks.

Summer tires lose significant traction below 45f, which are common during winters here. If you need the car below 45f you should put on all seasons or winter tires.
