So I'm planning on renting a R8 V10 (I know, take my Turbo, but I'd like to see how the R8 drives) and having a get away weekend for my birthday this year. Was going to pick up the car in SF and then head to Half Moon Bay, but wanted some driving suggestions to enjoy the car and some scenes. I have 100 miles per day (about 13 miles from pick-up to Half Moon Bay) and we will be staying in a hotel in Half Moon Bay.

You're better off enjoying your drive heading north than south. Heading into Marin County you get a sense of the backroads allowing you some spirited driving. Heading south, from SF, the entire bay area is clogged up everywhere you go.
