My Co-Worker has a 1997 Carrera S that he is looking to sell. The story behind the car:
He is the 2nd owner and acquired this gem directly from the original owner in San Diego, who used the car as his daily driver from day 1. With the car came over 80 pages of service records from Porsche of San Diego who handled all of the maintenance and repairs exclusively during his ownership.
This C2S may be the highest mileage example in the country with over 222,000 on the odometer, but by looking at it or driving it you would never know. The car has had:
Engine rebuild (April 2009 @ 140k miles)
New clutch(es)
Fluid changes
Newer tires
All-new headlamp lenses
New tail-lights
New steering wheel
Rennline race-floor on the driver side (because of ripped carpet)
New badges
Coco mats
2 new key fobs
New C2S shift ****
The only other modifications are lowering springs, after-market head unit, with alpine amp, alpine speakers, and a built-in Escort Radar detector.
A few things that are not perfect:
The car should get a new windshield, after years of use it’s pitted and could be replaced.
Third Brake Light has a few burnt out LED’s.
The Gauges are faded from San Diego Sun.
The carpets were removed under the floor mats, my guess is due to wear.
The front bumper has some spider webbing in the paint.
The car has two paint imperfections, one on the driver side quarter, and one under the “S” logo of Carrera S.
The Oil Pressure gauge flutters, but is intermittent and needs new sensor.
There was a minor accident in the early stage of this car's life in 1998. Suffice to say it was repaired properly and went on to 200k+ miles afterwards. The right rear quarter panel was repainted and not cut or replaced.
The car sounds, looks, and drives incredible - it shows and drives like a significantly lower mileage car. The current owner is a collector and bought the car for fun, and planned to do a complete restoration but now has 3rd child on way, and recently purchased a new home… He’s getting pressured to unload some toys, and asked me to help him post it here.
