Fellow members, I am looking to purchase a 911-based (964,993,997) factory built RUF coupe. This means that it MUST be a RUF Vin, which begin with W09, not a modified or converted car.

As always, I prefer the lowest-mileage, completely original example and will pay accordingly.

Preference given to a car in North America, however I will consider cars currently in Europe or Japan.

Please contact me either by PM here or at 911@addixion.com to discuss.

Many thanks,

Michael

Good luck with the search. They are definitely tough to find. I sent you an email with some of my research.

I can help. I have a close friend who still owns four original W09 cars (1986 BTR, 1993 BTR, 996 R Turbo Nardo, 997 RT12). He recently sold his CTR2 Sport and said that the others are available. I sent you a PM.

I'm not an expert on the above, but am fairly certain this is called "hijacking" a thread for one's own benefit. Pesto360, you are as welcome as I am to search for W09 cars here or elsewhere, but perhaps you can do that on your own and not on this thread?

On the other hand, if I'm wrong about the proper etiquette, then I retract this reply and apologize.

pesto, I think another thread should b started. I have also been looking for certain cars, but I usually wait until other similar WTB threads are fulfilled as I rather not compete with other buyers for same or similar cars. but that's just me and my understanding of forum etiquette.

Ok I'm sorry about that. I wasn't thinking, just saw that we had a similar interested. It didn't dawn upon me to create a second thread and crowd the forum. As you can see ,I've been a member for years and rarely post. Just when I'm interested. Technically, we aren't competing either. What you're referring to as a w09 car is an earlier car. Your interest is in later cars which to the best of my knowledge do not carry the w09 number. We currently have a w09 car which is in Miami if you're close or ever want to see one in person. It's one of the 29 original w09 cars. It's a 1986 slant nose deleted 505 car which makes it special as well as being a wide-body. It is certainly unique. We are collecting now and not interested in selling but would also like to buy more of the w09 cars. According to your description you actually aren't looking for a w09 since those were G-body cars.

Since you like the later cars you may want to consider a 964 RCT EVO. We have one and it's an excellent car and has tons of power with great brakes and power assist steering. Ruf is still building them as well so you can make it your own.

Again sorry for the hijacking. You can PM me since we share the same goal.

I appreciate the apology, and our shared interest. One point of clarification:

W09 refers to the first three digits of ANY RUF factory-built car, from the earliest days to today. It has nothing to do with a specific model of theirs.

I am, in fact, more interested in their air-cooled cars than the modern ones, although I have both in my collection.

If I may clarify...not all RUF cars start with W09. Mine starts with TP.

I am always happy to stand corrected. What year and model do you have that was built at Pfaffenhausen and the vin starts with TP and not W09?
