EXTERIOR
The paint is excellent. I get frequent compliments on it. There are a few very small nicks on the front bumper as you would expect, but other than that there is not a single significant flaw in the paint anywhere.
I replaced the original 18” twist wheels with TechArt Formula wheels, 8.5x18 and 10.5x18. The original wheels will come with the car. Unfortunately, one of the Techart rims got some curb rash recently (see pic). I’ve been told it can be repaired but I haven’t checked with a repair shop. New Sumitomo HTR Z III tires, 235/40 and 295/30, were mounted just recently. Wheels come with locking lug nuts.
INTERIOR
The dash and steering wheel, carpet and seats are all in excellent condition. The outside bolster on the driver’s side shows a little wear but less than what I’ve seen on most other cars. The original tan gear shifter and brake lever were replaced with black ones to give the interior some additional contrast, but the original pieces come with the car if you want to change them back. New Lloyd’s floor mats were added a year ago with the Carrera 4S logo and black binding. Brand new door seals ($370) were installed also at that time.
MECHANICAL
The engine and transmission run beautifully, and the car passes tough Denver emissions standards easily. I installed the M030 springs and Bilstein shocks that I bought from Carnewal, and it improved the car’s handling and ride significantly. Service performed in the year that I’ve owned it:
6/18/11 - new distributor caps and rotors
- new engine lid shocks
- new fuel filter
- new air filter
- new pollen filters
7/8/11 - new brake rotors and pads – Hawk Performance Ceramic pads, low dusting
- new spark plugs
7/12/11 - complete brake fluid flush, including ABD system flush
- complete transmission fluid flush including front differential
4/22/12 - A/C fan resistor replaced
6/24/12 - completed 2 year service. Oil/filter change (both filters replaced)
Also included:
Original window sticker
2 fobs, original switchblade, valet key
