I’m looking for an open trailer to haul a GT4 (or future GT3) to and from track weekends. Prefer name-brands like Trailex, Featherlite, and ATC in good condition – no issues, maintenance up-to-date. I’m on the west coast (Los Angeles) and prefer something within 500 miles. Please let me know if you have anything for sale. Thanks in advance!

P.S. – I’m a newbie on this, so I’m also looking for advice on how to inspect a trailer before purchase. Please see my other post here:

I also was looking for a used one, ended up buying a NEW Featherlite Aluminum trailer for 6K out the door, where used ones were not that much less.

I tow my 2016 GT3RS with it and I love it, able to leave it out in the rain/sun and have no issues at all with it.

I use a Range Rover Sport to tow it and I don't even feel it back there.

Here is a link to it on their website:

Please post the dealer you bought it from or PM me. I was quoted $7500 plus tax and fees for one from a central CA dealer

Go for aluminum. The steel ones are noticeably much heavier. I had a very basic 16" steel with simple open tire rack in the front and was surprised how much lighter the same sized (16') Featherlight felt.

There are a couple different ones they offer, I know one was a couple thousand more then the one I bought.

Also mine is 18 foot if you were wondering.

I bought it at Norco trailers in southern California

Looks like they have 4 in stock, asking price of $6162

Thanks. The Cencal dealer (Bonander Trailer) only had the 3110 models in stock. Not sure why they were more expensive.

Are you needing something like race ramps to extend the 6' stock ramps that come with the trailer to load your 'RS?

I just picked up this Sundowner 20' trailer myself which has the front locking storage box which is really helpful for 7300.00 NEW.. Just another option to search for.. Comes with 8ft ramps so no need for race ramps and it sits LOW to the ground.. easy to load a Porsche.

Buy new or unless the trailer is less than a couple of years old. Otherwise, you are going to have to service the hubs, brakes and even have to replace the tires. If you go Featherlite, the 17.5' trailer has shorter ramps than the 20' model, and you have your choice of a standard height deck or raised.

Thanks everyone for the tips... I think there is a lot to appreciate when buying NEW (ie, warranty, all functions working, minimal headaches).

It now seems that unless I can get a killer deal on a used trailer, it may not be worth the hassle.

GT345 - Thanks for the pointer to Norco. Like SamG, I'm also curious how the Featherlite 3182 differs from the more expensive 3110.

P.S. - I think I've seen you at PCA/POC events??? Cal Festival of Speed?

I do have race ramps that I store under the car in the front when travelling (don't even need the axel lift), and the rennline tow hooks as well.
