This is an amazing opportunity to own a piece of Porsche GT3 RS history. This is a GT3 RS only 1 of 50 exist (http://www.supercars.net/blog/2001-porsche-911-gt3-rs/).
One of 50 GT3RS built (worldwide) by the Porsche Factory for racing in ALMS, Grand Am, LeMans, and other worldwide endurance sports car racing events. This is a car that was campaigned in European Le Mans Series, Essays des 24 Heures du Mans, Repsol European Le Mans Series, Estoril 1000 Kilometers, 50th Annual Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring, Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta by the drivers Mike Youles, Robin Liddell, Piers Masarati,. Jack Baldwin also ran this car in HSR winning 5 straight races.
The car is turn key and ready to be raced in PCA, HSR, POC, and many other racing groups. This is significantly different than a standard Cup car, being significantly more rare and faster. This car has run a 2 min 12 sec at Road America. This car is a rocket, super strong and very fast. If you want to win races and be competitive in PCA or historic races this is a great car to own. The car is ready for the track and needs nothing to get going. Details below.
In the past year there have been huge capital investments (appox. $40k) into the car. In 2015, the engine was rebuilt ($20k), the differential was upgraded, the transmission was upgraded and the car has fresh paint in Battleship Grey. This is a great chance to own a track car that you can enjoy while knowing that it has lasting value. The race car is ready for the track and needs nothing to get going.
UK based Ricardo Vehicle Engineering took this particular example a step further, beginning with a brand new chassis from Porsche. The chassis was stripped down and every seam welded in order to stiffen the body shell and improve torsional rigidity. (This would later be outlawed by Le Mans regulations) Weighing 2,442 lbs., (per Le Mans regulations) this very special edition vehicle is ready to run in Porsche Club of America or Vintage/Historic series races and boasts a laundry list of high performance enhancements for which no expenses were spared. This is the original chassis.
