1989 didn't have a limited edition 'S package', it inherited nearly all of it as standard. You should find nearly all of the items in the 88's starred box listed in the Standard Equipment section on the left of your window sticker, instead.

That is a strong asking price, but it is a fantastic example. There are days I miss my '88 Turbo. GLWS.

Yes, the windshield was replaced during the 18k service as it was damaged by the shop while replacing the hood struts. The hood/paint was not damaged.

+1 .. Very nice '88 951 S time capsule.

I'm in the market for either a 951 S coupe or a 968 coupe from the otherwise 944 S3 series. A couple of questions. There's a commercial given to the aftermarket radio's performance, however "the silence is deafening" as to the brand and model ID.
Was the factory OE radio's wiring harness and ISO connectors spliced and removed for the aftermarket radio install? Does the adjacent OE Blaupunkt EQ/amp gismo continue to operate as originally installed?

What can you tell me about the freaky drivers side antenna stub? Was the recently replaced windshield an OE brand Saint-Gobain Sekurit? The 951 series radio antenna is wire type within the center of the windshield glass. There is a (ISO connector) antenna amplifier module which is located on the passenger side behind the dashboard. The glove box may need to be removed during windshield R&R... A OE brand windshield will have the antenna pigtail on the passenger side.

Great condition 951 S coupe ... I look forward to knowing more.

Cheers, Mike

P.S., a $45,000 asking? That is strong money if nothing else.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the follow-up questions. The current radio is a Blaupunkt and is not connected to the equalizer. I assume that the equalizer works, but I do not know that for a fact. I also have no information on the installation of the current radio or the external antenna. You should assume that the OE radio connecters have been removed. The replacement windshield is a Saint-Goblin Sekurit and has the central antenna. I have attached pictures in case they help.
45k is the asking price and I am open to reasonable offers. Let me know if you have any more questions.
James

Beautiful example of a 951. Looking to sell my 87 911 Carrera 3.2 before I can make a move. Maybe soon...
Good luck with the sale.
