Recently $5000 was spent in preventative maintenance (at TPWS here in Austin) that included a timing belt service, A/C system overhaul, and all new belts. The black paint and tan interior are original and present well. Maintenance history is available for my ownership, and a clean Carfax report dating back to 1986 is included.
The body is straight with a few stone chips on the hood, a weathered front bumper, and a scratched fender edge over the rear passenger wheel. All lights and the sunroof are functional. Previously fitted with an S4 spoiler, the car now wears a stock unit. The resulting holes on the hatch have been professionally plugged. Aftermarket 18" wheels show no significant flaws and Continental tires have good tread. The leather seats and door panels are in good un-restored condition, and the carpeting is protected by matching color mats. The undercarriage is in clean original condition.
A plastic piece is missing plastic from the shifter console, and the dash covering shows some distortion near the defroster vents. The brake pad, ABS and coolant level lights are on, but brakes and engine temperature function correctly and has been diagnosed as sensor issues. The A/C system was gone over and the rear system was deactivated. An aftermarket JVC head unit has replaced the stock stereo.
The original SOHC 4.7L V8 features twin distributors runs extremely well. US-market cars were equipped with the 5.0L V8 for 1985. This Euro-spec motor made 310 horsepower when new. The 4-speed automatic shifts smoothly. The undercarriage is in clean original condition.
