Everyone thinks they're a market expert, but it's simply amazing that Geoff at Isringhausen buys and sells of ton of rare and beautiful cars here on a monthly basis. My guess is? He knows the market reasonably better than most of us.
What would be nice is if folks would learn a wee bit of etiquette and not post their almost always wrong market appraisals and start a thread in the appropriate discussion forum, if they want to begin a discussion of current market pricing. Not in a seller's ad.

And it would be nice if folks refrained from posting unwanted pricing comments in a seller's classified ad, especially those of sponsoring RL dealers (e.g., Disturbed).

Actually, in my own belief it's the dealerships that influence the market value increases we see. They buy a rare car, post it for unreasonable high prices, then other dealerships see these ads start to do the same and eventually drives the market up. It's a domino effect. It's a brilliant sales strategy, but I really do hate seeing people do this.
Despite the fact that I'm no market expert I have been watching the market closely as an enthusiast, and do have a degree in Business so do understand the basic 'Demand and Supply' concept. You stash the cars away, create a drought/need in the market (there is always demand for GT3's anyways) as I'm sure some dealerships are doing this (not saying OP is), releasing their baits over time.
It's the same case with the GT4 market right now, people/dealerships see some dealerships put a $20k mark up on a car and think 'why can't I do it?' and they do so as well leading the false value of all cars to go up.
I do respect people asking freely what they want but taking advantage of the enthusiasts by forcing the prices to go sky high is not something I appreciate...
Sorry OP for the derail of the thread. It really is a beautiful car. Good luck!

Here's the Cayman Discussion Forum, if you desire to discuss GT4 pricing, sponsored by Isringhausen BTW:

And it should be in my garage. When it was 229, I offered 215. When it was lowered to 209, I offered 199. Stupid me. 299 may seem high now, but who knows. There will likely never be another car as granular and communicative as this. If the CAD$ wasn't in the sh!tter, I'd buy this car today.
My 991 GT3 is riv, my RS is coming in riv, wish I had this car too.
