For Sale is this gorgeous Opel GT nicknamed “Baby-Vette”
German Car with a French body, inspired by Italian design

1970 Opel GT
Engine 1.9 CIH, 100 HP
Transmission 4 Speed Manual

The Opel was stored in a goat-shed for over ten years, unfortunately baby goats used it as a training mountain to learn climbing. So the paint has some deep scratches, which have been unprofessionally covered with mismatched colored red by the guy I bought the car from.
Sometime in the 80’s the driver side door was replaced after an parking lot accident, which resulted in a salvage title. Besides, the body is fairly straight and rust not an major issue.
Due to the storage time some gaskets start to leak oil and need to be replaced sometime in the future.

I bought this car last December, because it is one of my favorite cars, and was on my bucket list since the late 80’s.
It was very much neglected, so since January following parts have been replaced:

Body and Interior:
- Speedometer (Odometer was not working anymore so Mileage will be stated as “a lot”)
- Radio with Bluetooth and USB
- Automatic Seat belts (the old static were just a safety hazard)
- Side markers front and rear with gaskets
- Euro conversion fog-light lenses (now used as running lights)
- Euro conversion of front side markers to house the turn signals as well
- New Interior light cover
- Tail lights with housing and all gaskets
- 16x8 and 16x9 BBS RS Style Wheels
- Rear 225/45ZR-16 Toyo Proxes R1R
- Front 205/45ZR-16 Toyo Proxes R1R
- 16 Chrome Open End Locking Lugs
- Ashtray (was missing)
- All light bulbs have been replaced with white LED’s for longevity reasons.
- New Battery Tray
- Door Weather strips (there was just a lot of bathroom sealant there)
- Spare full gauges set with dash insert (all gauges are working on this one too)

Engine
- Weber DCOE 40 Side-draft Carburetor instead of the former used leaking down draft DGV Carb
- Midi-Kit intake Manifold
- 4in1 Steel Header
- Thermoregulated Spal Fan instead of static fan on Water pump
- New Radiator core heavy duty
- Engine Oil and tune up, Valve adjustment
- Spare fuel pump
- e-vap lines of tank replaced

Suspension/Brakes
- Koni Yellow all around
- 1” Lowered Intermediate sport front spring
- 1” Lowered coil springs in the back
- 1” Front anti-sway bar kit
- Rear anti-sway bar kit
- All Bushings front and rear have been replaced with PU bushings (In black when available for stock look)
- Upper and lower ball joints
- Steering Pinion input bearing
- Rack and Pinon Boot kit
- Steering tie rods
- Wheel Bearings front
- BMW Front calipers (new)
- Vented Brake rotors (bigger and better)
- braided steel brake lines

This Opel GT now out handles even more modern cars, it is fabulous to drive!

I invested more than $8000 USD just in parts.
