Hey Robert -
Nice speaking with a fellow 993 owner. Dam,,, someone who's knowledgeable about the '90's decade Porsche/MB collaborative MY94 500E sedan production ,,,,, plus you own one! An E500 in Smoke Silver metallic over parchment leather, gotta luv it. (okay I'm partial as back in the day my businessman's special was a MY95 E320 sedan w/the same color/interior combo) I'll pass on the F.S. coupe, however keep me in mind should you ditch the 500E. If the spirit moves feel free the email a few pic's of the sedan's exterior and interior.
Below are pic's of my (USA) coupe at PAG's historic Werk 1 facility having a RoW gearbox swap, M033 + sway's, RoW bumper covers, TUV fog light, traditional black engine grill, and a half dozen other production features not scheduled for North America. A rare opportunity for a Porsche enthusiast; think candy store.
When it comes to the normally aspirated 3.6l,, a gearbox enhancement as you know is big band for the buck$. The coupes production fitted G50 is crated in our Germany garage, maybe resurrecting and re-gearing for declared tract use is in its future. "Lufhansa,, the crate is luggage"
Good luck with the 968.
