Maybe. As one of the "bidders" in this sale, I can tell you it did not sell near the asking price, it was much higher. Rant on using Rennlist classifieds as an auction will come in another post.

That totally blows. Seems to be commonplace with the air cooled 911 market both here and on other forums. A good friend had a deal on a clean 85 Carrera and was scheduling a PPI when he found out the car was sold out from beneath him. Really sucks.....

Am I the only one who think it's crazy that crowds of people think ~50k is a good deal for a crash-and-repaired 6GT3 when not so long ago you could have a clean accident free one for the same price

I was also interested in the car. But when the owner told me over the phone I would have to offer above the asking price , because he already had agreed to selling it to someone else at his asking price and only then he would sell it to me. I told him I respected the person whom he agreed to sell at his asking price and told him I would pass.
Oh, well.....

Thank you...I was that person. After we made a deal contingent on a ppi which I scheduled and prepaid(policy)he sold car to a
higher offer. Not cool in my book...

regardless of pricing, once agreed, it's a done deal. you can afford me more, but if i agreed to a deal. it's done.

i think there are many newbies here. i sold one to my friend last month at $66. i have not seen ANY 996gt3 here or any where for sale that can touch my car. not even close.... and i have ppl trying to argue with me on my price. the guy who bought my car, didnt bother to test drive it. saw it, paid and done.
