Car is an original euro Carrera that was campaigned in PCA and HSR stock classes in the midwest by the previous owner. He then began the process of turning it into a PCA GT4/RS clone when I purchased it in 2005. The car came with a Hi-butterfly MFI and a 2.8l twin plug motor. My intent was to build it to the full potential allowed by the then GT4 rules which allowed for a 2.8l motor.
During some of the teething problems, I decided to rebuild the motor with the following:
92mm J&E Pistons
Pauter connecting rods
EBS racing valve springs/seat/retainers
'84 carrera heads for best flow
New PMO's sized for cam profile and displacement
993 twin plug distributer
HP is above 300 but hi-octane race fuel is required
5 spd with active first gear
Fidenza aluminum flywheel
New Wevo shifter, linkage and gate shifter
New Wevo engine mounts
Chrome-moly cage
Bilstein coil-overs
930 brakes
Custom fuel cell
Battery relocated to smuggler's box
Extra capacity dry-sump mounted inside for better weight distribution
All Aeroquip steel braid lines
Car weighs about 2050 lbs.
The car has sat in my garage for the last 6-7 years as life has taken me in other directions. I have continued to run my 993 RSCS clone but that ad will likely appear shortly.... again, life. Due to the engine's uniqueness, I may be willing to sell the car without the motor and sell it separately.
