I'm mildly interested in this car, if the word 'mildly' and GT2 can be used in the same sentence. LOL!
I've got a 997TT. I feel that car is a future classic. What's the future of an 08 GT2? How does it perform relative to my car? Is it destined to be a future classic as well?
Thanks in advance.

Race Car
I think the GT2 is one of the best cars Porsche has ever made. It's sort of the perfect compromise - it's got the brutal acceleration of the Turbo, combined with the precise handling of the GT3. Not as harsh on the street as a GT3 and not as soft and cushy as the Turbo. It does however demand respect from the driver.
I'm actually a bit surprised the prices are so low relative to others with the same attributes. It's one of the last 6-speed manuals with the race-proven Mezger engine. The 997 GT3 is selling for close to MSRP now. The GT3RS is selling for MSRP or slightly over now. The GT3 4.0 is just crazy. The GT2RS is selling for near MSRP. With only 216 GT2's in the US, it's surprising they aren't also selling for close to their original MSRP. Perhaps it's because only 216 people know the secret of this machine!
Just don't take one for a test drive unless you have the garage space! It's really that good.
Also - I would not part with mine at their asking price. Someone will get a great deal!

gt2
speedster
gt3rs 4.0
that's it, all the rest will not hold their value nor be considered classics.
if I had the money I would buy this gt2!

Great points Bill and Porka on the GT2 values and I wholeheartedly agree. The GT2 seems to be the most undervalued of the GT cars considering the supply and the fact that no more manuals in these cars will be made. I can't imagine the GT2 not at least holding it's value over the years. But excellent point that the 997turbo will continue to decline and not give the same level of performance.

I just drooled on my iPad, a GT car is a totally different animal than the plush turbo, for one it's 2wd and 100% raw, to master a car with a precision racing suspension and that much power has to be absolutely breathtaking, all GT cars will hold their value above a turbo and sell quicker, they are highly engineered and very limited production factory race cars, I can tell you this if you love the feel of a fine tuned peice of machinery in your control, you can't go back, the problem is you will have this addiction, to constantly watch for the five 0, looking for any straight stretch to sling shot out of, or my drug of choice driving desolate curvy roads, so with this said, you prob shouldnt get one they will make you sick
