you are fully correct..however, the C-GT was a complete "new supercar" design..besides the steering wheel nothing in common with a 911. The 4.0 is based on the 997 GT3. The main problem of the C-GT is that they produced too many - AGREED-..there were more C-GTs then 997 GT2s for example.
In the end the original MSRP doesnt matter so much, its more about simple "demand & supply"...correct..but still I believe that when surpassing the threshold of the C-GT..many people will start to get "some stomach pain"..."hang on - is the 4.0 really more fun - more desirable than a C-GT"?
Time will tell..
I do believe the CGT will go up in its own right, but may take some more time.
Both are amazing!

This 4.0L would look so good parked in my garage next to my 2.7L RS - unfortunatley the wifey wants me to buy the new house next week so funds will become a little depleted... and yes I do want to stay married.

Your black 2.7 rs is amazing, this black 4.0 would be a perfect match!
I just bought a 996rs to go with my 4.0! Both white and my4.0 has some red details.

SIRTOM - I can assure you that it sold for very near the asking price, if not right on it. That is the market at full retail, through a Porsche dealer, with CPO and a bump in this particular instance for the very favorable tax treatment available.
Note to anyone sitting with a car like this (meaning under 1,000 miles and highly optioned) - if these levels excite you, send me an email with details of your car. You won't get right up there because of the CPO, dealer bump and tax deal, but can certainly get well above $300,000 on a very quick and easy transaction.
You can reach me at michaelkelter1@mac.com.

I guess there is plenty much space in a big country like Sweden.

How much would this car have been 1 year ago?

The Isringhausen car was owned by an LLC - you were purchasing the LLC, not the car itself. Thus, no need to title the car upon transfer, thus no sales tax.
That car exactly a year ago was $250,000 tops.
