Here is a nice 1981 911SC Targa that would make a good daily driver or weekend fun car. It is not a museum piece or garage queen, but presents well and is a good solid rust-free California car. The Targa is a very desirable model, offering the all-weather usefulness and safety of a coupe combined with the joy of open-air motoring on sunny days.

A top-end rebuild of the engine, including new rings and cylinder head studs, was done in 2005 by Precision Motion in Riverside, one of the premier independent Porsche shops in California, and the car has been driven only 6,000 miles since. Documentation of this rebuild will be provided to the buyer. The 3.0 liter engine starts instantly, and runs strong and smooth. The five-speed manual transmission shifts perfectly, with no unusual noises. The car tracks straight and drives well with no shimmy or vibration. The original Fuchs alloy wheels have been nicely chromed, and bear matching Pirelli P-Zero tires with excellent tread depth.

The body is nice and straight, with no dents, dings, or scratches. The Mocha Brown exterior was repainted about ten years ago, and has excellent gloss. There are a few minor chips on the car that have been retouched.

The original tan interior has the patina expected of materials of this vintage, but is still quite presentable and serviceable, with no tears, rips, or other damage. The Targa top is in good condition and fits correctly. The jack, spare tire, tools, and owner’s manual are all present and in good condition.

It is fitted with European Bosch H4 headlights and factory fog lights, which add to the appearance of the car as well as providing superior illumination. It also has electric windows and cruise control. The battery is new.

A high-grade Sony AM/FM/CD radio replaces the original unit, and is complemented by a ten-disc CD player located in the luggage boot.

The original York air conditioner compressor has been upgraded to a modern rotary-vane unit, and the AC system has been fully serviced and recharged. At the same time, the brake light switches were replaced, and the fog lights, clock, and interior lights were repaired.

Clear title in hand. This vehicle is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty, expressed, written, or implied. Located in Covina, CA. Inspection of the vehicle is strongly encouraged.

This vehicle is also being advertised by other means, and is subject to prior sale. Seller reserves the right to sell vehicle at any time.
